Humberto Briceno Leon has extensive and recognized academic experience as a visiting professor, researcher, and lecturer at prestigious law schools in Venezuela, Europe, and the United States. Those academic centers include Yale Law School, Duke Law School, the Center for Socio-legal Studies University of Oxford, Universite Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, the Central University of Venezuela, the Andres Bello Catholic University, and Monteavila University. In 2018, he joined Lewis & Clark Law School as an international visiting scholar. He obtained his Law degree in Caracas from the Andrés Bello Catholic University, a Major in Political and Administrative Sciences from the Central University of Venezuela, a Diploma D'Etudes Approfondies (Master's degree) from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, and a Master in International Law from the University of Miami School of Law. He served in Venezuela as a Judge in the First Administrative Litigation Court and as the first substitute Justice in the Political-Administrative Chamber at the Venezuelan Supreme Court of Justice. He has been a professor and researcher in legal and political sciences for 40 years in Constitutional Theory, Theory of the State, Constitutional Law, International Law, and Administrative Law. He has published several books, including Administrative Law and Separation of Powers, United States, France, and Germany, and more than 40 monographs in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Spain, and the United States.
